IBM Internship - Technical Support Mainframe (Level II German Speaker)

Job description

Mainframe is still a core part of many businesses. It's been reported that mainframe handles 30 billion business transactions each day, holds 80% of the world's business data and handles 90% of all credit card transactions.
The Mainframe technical support Intern will be responsible for the support of the application systems currently running on mainframe servers and will be exposed to:

·  Database understanding such as IMS and DB2 (how it works, query interpretation, query writing)
·  interpret/analyze code and application logs in order to troubleshoot errors
·  Programming languages COBOL, JCL
·  Various Tools for analysis such as ITP Panorma, xInfo, RVS etc.
·  ITIL Foundation Process such as Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management, SLA Management

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

·  Basic database understanding (how it works, query interpretation, query writing)
·  Ability to interpret/analyze code and application logs in order to troubleshoot errors
·  Problem solver, customer oriented
·  Analytical and quantitative abilities with excellent written and verbal communications
·  General understanding of data analysis techniques
·  Ability to participate within a multi-disciplinary team
·  Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Systems from an accredited college/university
·  Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
