This job opening is for a Technician in the IBM Test Area that develops the tests for the processor chips that go into IBM's leading-edge Servers. More specifically, a person in this position will have responsibility for developing, modifying, and supporting the automated test equipment used to test and burn-in Z and P series chips and modules. The successful candidate will receive hands-on training in order to become the team's “go to” expert on several tester equipment platforms. As such, they will have the opportunity to become a valued member of the team. We are looking for individuals who can work independently to conduct experiments, organize technical data, analyze problems, and recommend/implement solutions. Improving processes and documenting workflows are also part of the job role. The person will work closely with a large team of experienced IBM test engineering professionals, so being organized and having good communication skills are also important.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Technical expertise on the J9, Uflex, TEL, MCC platforms and equipment. The candidate will support our raised test floor operation. Some tasks for this candidate would be test equipment maintenance, process documentation, and tester bill of material architecture.
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
Strong understanding of computer architecture and EE concepts (analog, digital, power, signal integrity)
Programming skills: C, scripting languages (i.e. Python, PERL)
