Job description

This position is in the IBM Albany equipment engineering department supporting the Center for Semiconductor Research (CSR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Hardware Center research facility. In this role, you will be responsible for helping to manage the equipment maintenance service and parts contracts for 200+ tools that are used in the facility.

This position requires working in a team environment to execute duties needed to support the line and to ensure parts inventory is ready when needed. You will need to tack and monitor supply inventories through inventory database and perform weekly/monthly inventory counts for supplies as well as forecasting future requirements. You will also need to evaluate bids and proposals submitted by suppliers and identify fastest/most economic way to transport cargo or personnel to the site. The Equipment/Maintanence Engineer will also interact with the site landlord facilities group to assist with any facility infrastructure problems that involve IBM as well as with any tool/building system interactions.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

·  At least 1 year experience with semiconductor equipment, processes and fabs would be beneficial and preferred.
·  Strong verbal, communication and teamwork skills are a must as the candidate will need to interact with multiple engineering and management teams.
·  The ability to work in a fast paced, highly diverse team environment and also ability to efficiently multi-task are essential.
