Job description
We are seeking qualified and motivated candidates for a position as a design layout engineer, including automated layouts and automated design rule checking.
We seek candidates to be part of a dynamic and skilled IBM Research team developing test structure design enablement for the world's most advanced semiconductor technologies.The candidate will develop manual and automated layouts per specified requirements, using industry standard (EDA) tools including the Cadence Virtuoso Design Environment. The candidate will ensure that designed layouts pass Design Rule Checks (DRC), and experience coding design rule checking is a preferred requirement. Close and frequent cooperation with development engineers will be required. Strong communication skills are necessary for this dynamic team environment.
You should have one or more of the following skills:
• Strong experience using the Cadence Virtuoso layout design tool, at least 3 years.
• Experience with Cadence Skill programming language and parameterized cells (Pcells), at least 2 years.
• Experience with automated layouts
• Basic understanding of physical layout, technology design rules, and semiconductor processing.
• Ability to debug errors and solve problems.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Fluent English (both verbal and written) and strong communication skills.
You must be willing to work onsite at the following location: Albany, NY
