The Public Service Sector consulting practice is a trusted advisor to federal, state and local governments, partnering to meet challenges and responding quickly to citizen demands, business needs, new economic conditions, and changing legislative priorities and policies.
The Senior Solutions Architect works with clients both in a pre-sale and post-sale capacity. During pre-sales, the architect works with other solutions architects, industry representatives, deal teams, and delivery teams to ensure the IBM solutions meets the requirements in the Request for Proposal (RFP). Additionally, the architect works across IBM lines of business to influence client technical strategy to position IBM solutions and offerings for opportunities within the client ecosystem. From a post-sales perspective, the solution architect is responsible for ensuring the solution is well documented and communicated to MSCS delivery teams, offering owners, and project managers. The architect is the senior technical focal point for the deal from pre-sales up to steady-state delivery.
Candidates must have the ability to obtain a US DoD Secret clearance. Preferred work locations include Dallas, TX, Boulder, CO, or Raleigh, NC.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
· Network Architecture and Design – 7 years
· Experience architecting, implementing, and troubleshooting VMware network environments (NSX) – 3 years
· Systems Administration, Engineering, and Architecture – 10 years
· Cloud solutions design and implementation – 5 years
· Storage, backup, and recovery administration/engineering/architecture experience – 3 years
· Demonstrated ability to create architecture artifacts, design documents, and other formal documentation
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Ability to obtain a US DoD Secret clearance
