Job description

·  The Client Technical Solutioner role is responsible for the development of technical GTS Services solutions. They are responsible for the overall success of the solution design and cost development in a technology specialty. They provide leadership and initiative to deliver new and complex high quality solutions to clients in response to varying business requirements. They incorporate in depth knowledge of leading edge products and technology in conjunction with industry and business results. They utilize a combination of IBM standard and custom solutions and they develop complex, multiple year, custom solutions and associated cost cases, all with the goal to ensure consistent delivery of high quality services and/or solutions which meet client business and technical requirements and fulfill IBM's obligations. They are a key player within the engagement team collaborating on innovative ideas using proven approaches to deliver a winning solution.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

·  Technical skill and business background knowledge required to develop a solution design utilizing current server hardware and software technologies, including public and private cloud environments, Red Hat and Openstack based software, virtualization, containers, orchestration and Dev/Ops management.
·  Ability to develop a technical solution design and budget & planning cost case that is cost effective, creative, deliverable and differentiates IBM from it's competitors.
·  Experience with x86 server architecture solutions design and implementation.
·  Experience in the development and/or delivery of cloud, hybrid cloud and on-premise server environments.
·  Experience with public cloud server environments and Red Hat products (specifically Openshift and Ansible Tower) and OpenStack products.

·  Experience with Dev/OPS, SRE operations environments and orchestrated container environments.
·  Overall knowledge of virtualization, enterprise deployment and datacenter operations; enterprise software server tool-set and standard IBM tool-set; enterprise monitoring tools, patching, batch and analytics software; middleware and DBMS.
·  Overall high-level understanding of networking (routers, switches, firewall, load balancer, connectivity).
·  Preferred knowledge of enterprise industry server operations and normal system management processes and methods.
·  Deep knowledge of multiple system architectures in the middle range.
·  Networks and system design principles
·  IT Service Management concepts and principles
·  Public, Private and Hybrid Cloud Architectures
·  Architectural Thinking. Documentation skills. Knowledgeable in the Solution Design Method.
·  Financial and Project Management skills
