Technology Platform Architecture

The mainframe architect will champion the direction of how to create a more scalable, reliable and secure mainframe ecosystem where the high demands of service availability are not compromised and we keep having room for innovation and agility. This requires key partnership and coordination between the application and the ITID teams

The Technology Platform Architecture job is accountable for the overall design and integrity of a set of systems/applications (platforms) that support products, services & customer journeys.

Activities:

This role will carry out some or all of the following activities:

• Accountable for ensuring platform architecture reflects the needs of their products and associated enterprise wide requirements, and working closely with the GBGF CIO architecture function and the solution architects to ensure alignment

• Responsible for creating platform roadmaps & ensuring cost effective, compliant and appropriate architectures are developed

• Ensure the solution designs created by solution architects are compliant with the platform architecture and roadmap

• Ensure design of products and services meet mandatory and regulatory compliance requirements

• Accountable for ensuring that operational issues (performance, operator intervention, alerting, design defect related issues etc) are addressed in the product architecture and fed into the backlog of change on an ongoing and regular basis

• Working with the Technical Product Manager, Product Owner, Solutions Architect and Technical Leads to turn overall business requirements into more detailed stories which are progressed by the teams

Desired profile

Qualifications :

Technical requirements
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Highly skilled in mainframe software development DB2, CICS, JCL, COBOL, VSAM, IAM
Proficiency in core banking (Hogan preferable) or payments systems on mainframe systems
Proven experience in diagnostics and troubleshooting
Expertise in system optimization
Expertise in code reviews and optimization
Extensive experience in OMEGAMON/CICS, Fault Analyzer
Experience with distributed systems integration and the compatibility of new trends with the existing mainframe systems

Liase effectively with all levels of management, IT and business colleagues and third party providers
Self-motivated, exercise initiative , good judgment, making sound technical decisions with rationale documented
Effective interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to investigate issues and collaborate with the team to gather information
Ability to propose appropriate simple to complex solutions, provide different points of view and a fresh perspective and suggestions to the team
Understand and follow compliance with internal and external controls
Flexibility and fast adaptability to new environments
