Job description



The role of the SEO Analyst has responsibility to deliver content and SEO compliance across all EMEA public websites. They will be end-to-end Project tasked to ensure delivery is fully SEO compliant (0000E4BS)

The SEO Analyst should be self-motivated to deliver specified projects on time and aligned to HSBC SEO best practices, along with strong stake-holder management and communication. The role of SEO Analyst is to advocate SEO and Traffic Acquisition best practice across all business stakeholders.

Your responsibilities will include:
· Ensuring all published content and pages are SEO compliant
· Working with Content Studio team to deliver SEO best practices
· Analysing and reporting project performance using Business Appropriate Analytics
· Competitor analysis and tracking
· Making on-going improvement recommendations to market websites, creating and delivering strategies to increase organic traffic; particularly through content initiatives
· Informing the Global SEO team knowledgebase
· Delivering market SEO training to editorial teams
· Coach content authors & editorial writers on good SEO practice to ensure pages are optimised
· Expectation management of all stakeholders
· Overseeing Quality Control in output
· Identifying key risks, issues and interdependencies and providing appropriate mitigation strategies or escalating as appropriate.
· Technical SEO health checking: auditing market websites to identify opportunities and weaknesses
· Working with SEO Leads, Product Owners and Marketing Teams to grow organic acquisition
· Delivering the Regional and Global SEO Lead's roadmap

Qualifications :

The ideal candidate for this role will have the below experience and qualifications:

·  Proven SEO Experience
·  Demonstrable understanding of other traffic acquisition channels
·  Knowledge of Conversion Marketing
·  Experience of Adobe Measure (Omniture SiteCatalyst) and relevant Search Engine Consoles
·  Experience working with locally relevant keyword and optimisation tooling
·  Experience and understanding of web publishing tools, content management systems and capabilities and automated translation platforms
·  Previous experience in a translation or localisation environment
·  Knowledge of digital ‘best practice' including SEO, writing for web, optimisation and accessibility
·  Strong analytical, and planning skills and the ability to work with multiple teams.
·  Innovative – the ability to approach things differently or do different things to deliver goals
·  Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal, to explain complex or technical issues
·  Pragmatic decision making skills, with the ability to make clear judgments based on a range of factors, e.g commercials, risk, customer experience; determine the implications and make recommendations as needed.
·  Strong relationship management and influencing skills to satisfy a wide range of internal and external customers with conflicting priorities
·  Strong understanding of information systems, business processes, the key drivers and measures of success
·  Respectful of different cultures, working with colleagues from across all 5 regions (North America, LATAM, Middle East, Asia Pacific and Europe) .
·  Experience in financial institutions welcomed
·  Broad digital experience beneficial, e.g. from an ecommerce or content strategy background

The base location of this role will be the First Direct building in Leeds.
