Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC's global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world's leading international bank.

Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.

We work in small, agile DevOps teams with colleagues around the world from our offices at the Bluefin Building in Southwark, our global headquarters in Canary Wharf, and multiple other locations around the UK including Sheffield, Leeds, Barnsley and Birmingham.

Following extensive investment across our Technology and Digital domains and with plans for continued expansion throughout 2020 and beyond, we are currently seeking a number of experienced Finance Analyst to join HSBC Technology.

HSBC Technology manages one the largest Technology investment portfolios globally. The Programme and Portfolio Management (PPM) practice is at the heart of managing the change agenda across Technology. We work with all of the Business Units, Functions and Regions to oversee the effective delivery of programmes and projects and continuously improve the way we deliver in adopting agile ways of working.

The Global PPM practice is currently undergoing a Transformation, with a vision to establish a consistent set of Agile and DevOps standards and practices, accompanied by reliable management information & tools whilst uplifting the delivery capability of all change teams across the globe.

This transformation will:

Improve the way that we deliver global technology change across the bank

·
Drive Agile ways of working and utilise Agile practices and DevOps capabilities

·
Establish global Practices and Communities of Practice across the bank which will in turn change how teams work together to deliver change

·
Provide a holistic view of the overall technology change agenda across all businesses and functions for technology globally

·
Provide insight on how we can optimise the change portfolio to maximize the investment in our strategic change agenda

We are looking to build a highly energized and high performance team, working in an Agile way to deliver this - and to work with the global business and functions to help drive their change agenda.

What you will be doing;

The Finance Analyst, reporting to the PPM Finance Lead and upward to the Global Head of Governance & Reporting, will be responsible for oversight of the production of insightful financial management information for the IT PPM community

The scope of the role therefore includes:

Engagement with stakeholders and maintenance of working relationships with key contacts in the IT PPM and PPM Lead community

Executing against the Operating Rhythm and Governance Calendar

·
Executing ad-hoc CIO-driven analysis requests, often to demanding timeframes

The role involves facing-off to senior stakeholders in the course of eliciting requirements, syndicating outputs and providing preparatory materials for Executive forums.

The ideal candidate would be expected to have experience (minimum 2 years) of project accounting, and to be (as a minimum) a partially qualified accountant. A working knowledge of Clarity would also be a distinct advantage.

To be successful in this role you should have proven experience within the Technology sector with knowledge of the following skills:

The ideal candidate would be expected to have project Accounting experience

· 
As a minimum - a partially qualified accountant.

· 
Experience working in an Agile environment

· 
A working knowledge of Clarity (advantageous).
