Role Title: Performance and Reward Analyst

Business: Human Resources

Grade: GCB5

Role Purpose
· The Global Performance and Reward team is responsible for driving the strategic performance and reward support agenda across key Businesses and Functions. The team supports the Global Banking & Markets, Retail Banking & Wealth Management, Commercial Banking, Global Private Banking, Global Functions and HOST teams globally.
· Reporting to the Head of Group and Global Reward Analytics, the job holder supports a range of performance and reward activities for Global Businesses.


Key Accountabilities

Impact on Business

· Provide comprehensive support to key reward initiatives including pay review, market benchmarking, remuneration and incentive schemes and policy and processes.
· Act as product champion for Performance & Reward (P&R) to stakeholders across the HR function and within the business, building awareness and adoption of relevant products and processes, including the use and acceptance of total compensation, incorporating local business needs and regulatory requirements as appropriate
· Provide analytical P&R support for enhancing the global P&R team
· Responsible for ongoing monitoring of all key reward metrics
· Providing market data and salary recommendations to HR Generalists for ongoing HR processes (recruitment, promotions, movements etc.) thus enabling appropriate reward decisions for the direct reports of the Global Business Heads.
· Support the Global Pay Review process for designated client segments. Support and provide quality assurance of pay review process
· Ensure that all actions are within the requirements of the reward governance framework.
· Responsible for providing effective, relevant and timely executive reporting and analysis
· Communicate and support co-ordination of relevant annual Performance & Reward events
· Proactively keep up-to-date with related People/HR and business issues and initiatives that may impact on the reward strategy and ensure relevant information is shared within the immediate team as appropriate.
· Support Reward Managers on the development and implementation of new systems e.g. GPRS.
· Develop an understanding of and provide advice on incentive compensation plans.
· Work within the global P&R team with team members in all regions and major countries.


Management of Risk
· Responsible for the continual assessment of operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructuring and the impact of new technology.
· Demonstrates compliance with HSBC Bank plc Group standards, manuals and policies and adheres to the defined work practices, internal controls and risk management standards associated with the role.

Observation of Internal Controls

· Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
· Understands, follows and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business activities associated with the role, specifically HSBC Bank plc internal controls and compliance policies and manuals.

Qualifications :

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications

·  The ideal candidate should have:
·  Graduate degree or equivalent with preferably additional post graduate qualification in human resources, tax, accounting of other business related discipline
·  Advanced knowledge of MS-Excel and Office tools.
·  Consultative and client centric approach supported by strong problem solving skills
·  Previous experience in HR metrics, compensation and job measurement.
·  Good analytical and planning skills
·  Good communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact across all levels of the organization
