Role Purpose

The First Line Risk and Control job category is responsible for supporting the effective governance, control monitoring and management of non-financial risks in the First Line of Defence.

This job category will carry out some or all of the following tasks:

Support the loan review officer in undertaking assurance reviews for wholesale loan book. All findings to be discussed with the business unit heads and other officials during the course of review. The observations from the loan reviews function will be advised to the management and HBON Board.

Ensure that credit policies and guidelines are clearly understood. Reviews of wholesale credit business being underwritten by the bank in accordance with relevant regulatory and group policies.

Assess information from various sources, including new business, account conduct, utilization levels, delays / frequent deferral of reviews, adequacy of financial disclosure, adverse news.

·
Provide support in validating the design and operating effectiveness of the key controls through inspection, inquiry, observation, sampling, re-performance and recalculation.

·
Provide support in the review of risks and key controls through end-to-end process walkthroughs, events or thematic reviews, data-driven reviews or issue read across, and evidence reviews.

·
Participate in activities to help ensure control assessments are accurate, effective, comply with procedures and templates, and meet quality control requirements.

·
Support the influencing and shaping the development of regulatory frameworks in collaboration with internal parties

·
Carry out co-ordination activities which may include arranging resources, meetings, services and supplies

·
Carry out administration tasks, maintain records and information resources.

·
Other tasks and projects as assigned by management

Desired profile



Qualifications :

Knowledge and Experience / Qualifications

· 
Fresh graduate or working experience up to 1 year with good background in Account or Finance.

· 
A bachelor degree in Finance/ Account/ Business/ Commerce/ Economics, Masters is a plus.

· 
Computer skills and knowledge of office software packages.

· 
Ability to quickly adapt and learn systems is key.

· 
Excellent credit and financial analysis skills.

· 
Ability to work independently in undertaking process reviews.

· 
Ability to influence colleagues across multiple business lines

· 
knowledge of Banking operations would be preferred.
