Key Objectives for Consultant Business Systems:


The role on offer is for a business analyst providing support for a number of projects running though-out 2020. This includes the InterBank Offered Rate transition and single security programmes.

A working knowledge of money and long term debt markets is required. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate clearly and is able to explain how Information Technology systems' functionality can be used to meet or streamline business requirements.

The candidate will be part of Balance Sheet Management (BSM) and Fixed Income Information Technology with a primary focus on the America's Balance Sheet Management business. The team the candidate will join is a DevOps aligned team. Each member has exposure to different aspects of an Information Technology delivery team including development, testing, and incident management.

The role will be required to ensure the delivery of 2020 projects for the Balance Sheet Management Front Office in New York. The role is required to align HSBC's Balance Sheet Management business to industry standard approaches in long term debt and equity markets.
The role is needed to deliver enhancements to front office reporting and trade workflows to allow better management and insight into the current performance of the Balance Sheet Management business.

Principle Accountabilities:

The candidate will be responsible for analyzing the business' functional requirements and ensuring enhancements are delivered in-line with system capability. Liaising with internal support and development teams to ensure the business needs are met and prioritized in the correct manner. The person will ensure that the business expectation is fully met by Information Technology.

They will gain the trust and have a good relationship with the front office and business support functions across and work as a functional specialist in Toronto for the Balance Sheet Management business.

The candidate will be able to work within the HSBC structure, including but not limited to:

1. Internal technologies used for change and incident management

2. Production data and ensuring sensitive information is properly classified

3. Windows server technologies

4. Macro enabled spreadsheets

5. Detailed knowledge of mortgage markets

ESSENTIAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS



Clear communication and previous experience working with a front office business is a must, in addition to the below:

1. Strong understanding of bond and mortgage markets

2. Experience in gathering and providing analysis for business data

3. Able to translate business requirements into technical understanding and work with developers to deliver solutions.

4. Experience with VBA and macro enabled spreadsheets



Key product knowledge:

·  Money markets and long term equity backed debt products.
·  Some fixed income product knowledge would be an advantage.
IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

·  SQL knowledge would be beneficial and will be needed for this role.
·  Experience working with confidential data and access management
·  Javascript knowledge is an advantage
·  Previous exposure to Bloomberg TOMS
