Job Description:

   

Responsible for creating and modifying detailed drawings using CAD hardware and software from sketches, layouts, or notes provided by engineering. Works with engineers regarding model accuracy and design standards, and coordinates design criteria with various planning groups. Contributes design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product.

·  Create Cadence Allegro symbols for components used on PCB designs along with creating supporting documentation for internal review.
·  Maintain PCB Symbol Library Index and layout directories.
·  Work with mechanical area on transferring of design files to meet the requirements of the sheet metal enclosure.
·  Place components per the design requirements.
·  Collaborate with all functions of the product design team to ensure optimal placement.
·  Investigate routing strategies on high speed signals and various critical routes with the end result of performing and completing the interconnect on the design.
·  Work with power engineers in defining and optimizing layout of power circuits and defining power layers.
·  Review and correct design rule errors per SI and DFM constraints.
·  Verify design accuracy.
·  Incorporate features and properties for test access.
·  Provide documentation for PCB quoting and panelization.
·  Perform analysis and DFM checks on netlist and gerber data through Valor DFM Tool.              
·  Create PCB & PCA drawings using Blueprint drafting toolset.              
·  Verify all necessary data is complete and upload release files into Agile.
·  Maintain a high level of expertise in the Allegro, Blueprint and Valor toolsets. 
·  Maintain a high level of knowledge in latest PCB guidelines.
·  Contribute to continual PCB design process improvement.
·  Collaborate effectively with all design areas, mechanical, SI, DFM, test, power and external sources thru design process to ensure all design requirements are implemented, improve design quality and meet product schedules
