Description

HPE Primary Storage Lab Engineering Services Operations team is looking for a team-oriented individual who understands the critical nature of the business and makes every reasonable effort to achieve defined service level agreement expectations and/or provide acceptable workarounds. Effective communication skills and the ability to adjust to changes and handle multiple tasks will be essential to your success in this role.

Our team provides timely and accurate resolution and documentation of issues and requests. As an Engineering Services Network Engineer, you will also provide technical solutions and be responsible for achieving and maintaining a high level of customer service.

Manages the functionality and efficiency of computer networks. Perform network administration functions that include network design, implementation, maintain and support a growing network infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

·  Design, implement and maintain network solutions that provide core infrastructure in all labs.
·  Oversee data networks to maximize performance and minimize downtime
·  Confer with management and network users regularly to clarify needs
·  Procure network equipment required for the business
·  Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve problems
·  Coordinate network access and use
·  Continually research new technologies and educational opportunities
·  Maintain network equipment to latest firmware releases
·  Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding network design status, project progress, and issue resolution
·  Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members.
·  8-10 years of directly related experience in network and analysis
·  Experience performing advance network troubleshooting
·  Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of network devices running on one or more operating systems
·  Maintains the integrity and security of computer and network infrastructures
·  Maintains network documentations and topology drawings
·  Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products
·  Performs other duties as needed
·  Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery of networking infrastructure
·  Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of network resources
·  Participates in special projects as required
·  Provide accurate and timely documentation of network system problems via Incident Management processes and ticketing systems
·  Provides escalated technical support to customers by handling network-related issues; may provide on-call technical support telephonically and/or electronically
·  Analyzes and resolves program support deficiencies and conducts testing to enhance performance
·  Performs repairs, maintenance and upgrades of existing network systems using solutions in accordance with standard operating procedures
·  Investigates and resolves matters of significance
·  Builds technical solutions based on information gathered from submitted requirements documents and customer interviews
·  Adhering to workflow and service level expectations between teams to resolve issues in a timely manner
·  Works closely with HPE IT and HPE Cyber Security on NCS process and ports and protocols requirements.
·  Performs network updates, configuration, changes, additions, removals through predefined change control procedures in multiple environments from test/dev to production
·  Monitors network infrastructure through multiple monitoring tools to proactively address issues before they have the potential to cause outages
·  Creates formal procedures and Network Operation Procedures for recurring use in multiple environments
·  Patches network and security patches as necessary on all systems
·  Tracks troubleshooting and outages in addition to providing fully detailed root cause analysis using tools and official documents and procedures

Education and Experience Required:

·  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent years of experience
·  Typically 8-10 years’ experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

·  Advanced networking skills: The ability to design, implement, manage, and troubleshoot an IP network. Must have real time experience with network routers, switches and firewalls. Networking skills with STP, VLAN, routing, EtherChannel, VLSM, IPv4, and IPv6. HPE, Aruba, Cisco and Fortinet network switches, routers and firewalls. Manage and troubleshoot network using HP Intelligent Management Center, WireShark, and Wildpackets. Hands-on experience with Cisco and HP networking. Understanding of firewalls, TCP protocols and ports
·  Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, IPv4 and IPv6
·  Layer 2 Technology, STP, VTP, Layer 2 VLAN, Etherchannel, VSS, 802.1q trunking
·  LAN Switching and WLAN
·  Layer 3 Technology, OSFP, BGP, QoS, VRF, HSRP, VRRP and multicast
·  Security Technology, IPSEC VPN, SSL VPN, NAT
·  WAN Technologies, Dedicated Circuit, Layer2 / Layer3 MPLS, WAN Optimization.
·  Experience with firewall, IPsecVPN, SSL-VPN
·  Experience with network management and monitoring tools: SolarWinds, 
·  Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure, VPC, Transit Gateway and SD-WAN.
·  Knowledge of systems, network security and best practices.
·  Strong troubleshooting skills and documentations skills.
·  Take ownership of all assigned tickets, researching and drive to resolution.
·  Participate in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system/network provisioning and maintenance is consistent with company goals, industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
·  Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
·  Designing network systems running on multiple platform types.
·  Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language. Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at management levels.
·  Ability to design, implement the network and computer services needed to bring up a new remote lab site.
