Job Description:

   

The Nimble Storage Business Unit is looking for an experienced Manufacturing Quality Engineer to join our Manufacturing Engineering team. We are looking for a detail-oriented professional with a proven track record of leading engineering teams in a manufacturing environment and the ability to work remotely in a fast paced environment. The successful candidate will oversee our day-to-day manufacturing operations, drive quality throughout the Nimble Storage Supply Chain by engaging suppliers and leading manufacturing initiatives. He or she will be our onsite lead at the contract manufacturers’ factory.

Responsibilities:

·  Leads multiple project teams of other manufacturing engineers and internal and outsourced development and manufacturing partners responsible for all stages of the product lifecycle from new product introduction through end of lifecycle, including solution design, capacity modeling, validation, tooling, manufacturing, and issue reporting and resolution.
·  Manages and expands relationships with internal and outsourced partners for product manufacturing and development.
·  Serve as the primary quality assurance resource to suppliers for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement.
·  Define and implement manufacturing processes and procedures.
·  Create and release Engineering Change Orders (ECO) to the factory and ensure all ECOs are implemented correctly.
·  Develop, execute, and analyze quality‐reporting measures using the Corrective Action System for NCR's.
·  Conduct supplier audits as required.
·  Drives supplier quality issues to root cause and leads team to implement corrective and preventive actions.
·  Reviews and evaluates product designs and project activities for compliance with manufacturing guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback based on results to improve product quality and mitigate risk of product failure.
·  Provides domain-specific expertise and overall manufacturing engineering leadership and perspective to cross- organization projects, programs, and activities.
·  Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the manufacturing engineering organization.

Education and Experience Required:

·  Bachelors or Master's degree in a technology or manufacturing-related engineering discipline or equivalent.
·  Experience working on data storage servers in a Configure-to-Order box build manufacturing environment.
·  Typically 6-10 years experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

·  Experience with using engineering tools, automation, and software packages to design and automate manufacturing processes.
·  Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
·  Understanding of SMT process for PCBA builds
·  Experience with Arena PLM a plus.
·  Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
·  Conducting reviews of material specifications and hardware and electrical component design.
·  Evaluating forms of empirical analysis, modeling and methodologies to validate manufacturing process and tooling design and specifications
·  Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English.
·  Ability to effectively communicate manufacturing architectures, plans, proposals, and results, and negotiate options at senior management levels.
