Job Description:

   

Your contribution will create a cloud-architected CMS infrastructure, enabling a rapid scale-up/scale-down of infra components and therefore you enable the DevOps methodology for our CMS’ R&D community. Together with the broader team, your resulting solutions will create flexibility through automation and rapid infrastructure resource availability for the R&D community. Furthermore, in support to this easy scalable infrastructure offering, you will select, design and adapt the appropriate infrastructure management tools & policies.

Your responsibilities in our team:

• Besides a close eye on how the infrastructure offering needs to evolve you will also create & implement value-proposals on how the tools to manage the infrastructure need to adapt (management of private & public cloud: assets, monitoring, demand management, issue management, security, financial management...)
• Promote, influence and reach consensus with CMS R&D on your infra technology & services choices.
• Where needed, drive 3rd party, internal service and public cloud services providers (request for license quotes, avoid lock-in, biz-case validity versus market offering, make/buy/lease trade-offs…)
• Give guidance to the infrastructure team’s resources and have them support you for POCs and during incubation phases.
• Consult and support the R&D user community on new-technology Infra-structure sizing, architecture and solutions as a function of the user’s targeted use-case (eg functional testing, performance testing, build-chains (CI/CD), financial models...)
• Enable the delivery of Infra-structure as a service leveraging automation technologies such as Ansible.

Your contribution to the team:

• Education & Experience: Bachelor/Master degree in IT/Computer science plus 6-10 years of IT/Telco industry R&D experience.
• Good understanding of cloud (openstack, openshift), containers, kubernetes, orchestration etc with considerable hands on experience creating and deploying containerized apps.
• Good exposure to datacenter, network switches & configuration, storage servers and switches, blades, synergy/hyper-converged infra etc.
• Basic Config and code management with git, jira, Kanban, agile, etc
• Good idea of deployment automation and its troubleshooting using ansible/puppet/heat etc…
• Cybersecurity: triple A knowledge and related tools & solutions (eg Hashicorp Vault)
• L2/L3 networking knowledge with external switch configuration (HPE switches preferred or cisco) along with knowledge of vSwitches/vLans and its working, routing, NAT, firewall (iptables/firewalld) etc.
•Broad knowledge and experience in cloud and virtualization technologies (OpenStack, Container, VMWare ,K8s, …)
