Job description



Your Responsibilities :
Participate in month-end GL (general ledger) close and reporting of entity's results to Corporate. Responsible in the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, preparation of journal entries and execution of internal control in accordance with GSK Internal Control Framework.

Collaborate with stakeholders and other functions (P2P, O2C, Stat & Tax) to ensure successful month-end close.

Key Responsibilities:
• Execute work in accordance with the service management framework by providing timely and accurate customer service.
• Preparation of Standard Monthly Journal.
• Inter-company reconciliation and confirmation.
• Perform daily bank reconciliation.
• ICT submission and reconciliation.
• BISON submission and reconciliation.
• Execution of internal controls in accordance with GSK Internal Control Framework.
• Sub-Ledger vs General-Ledger reconciliation.
• Execute month end close steps in accordance with ONE month checklist and SOP.
• Attend all daily/weekly Communication Cell.
• Prepare monthly Balance Sheet schedules & reconciliation.
• Resolve general accounting and reporting issues in consultation with the Service Delivery Managers.
• Liaise with local countries on Balance Sheet open item tracker.
• Participate in any compliance audits and respond to audit queries.
• Ensure compliance to BSC policies, local company legal and statutory requirements.
• Assist and support the Service Delivery Managers in the implementation of project initiatives.
• Ensure stakeholders queries are attended to and resolved in a timely, responsible and proactive manner.
• Identify, recommend and implement solutions in consultation with Service Delivery Managers for continuous improvement opportunities.
• Update changes to SOP documentation when required.
• Assist in the preparation of training materials when required.
• Support new and existing team members through proper knowledge transfer; sharing of resource, knowledge and experience and best practice thereby ensuring quality is maintained through any staff transition.
• Perform analytical review of profit and loss accounts and balance sheet, trend analysis, cost center checks and transaction posting checks. The incumbent has to be knowledgeable on the principle activities of each designated business units.
• Working with PIE on process standardization across APAC region.
• Insurance coordination.
• Dividend payment process.
• Minimize number of workflow escalations by ensuring all workflows are processed within agreed service timelines.
• Perform other duties as and when delegated, including job rotation to other functional teams as and when required.

Why You?

Basic qualifications:
You are a passionate Finance Analyst with the following attributes:
• Degree with Finance/Accounting or any related fields
• 1-2 years of R2R experience including areas on financial accounting, reporting and statutory filing, master data maintenance, treasury, asset accounting, inter-company transactions, etc.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
• SAP experience is must/preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated and displays initiative in solving problems.
• Experience in working in shared service center in financial accounting.
• Actively seeks to improve processes making them more effective and efficient.
• Must be fluent in English – both written and spoken.
• Attention to detail, good analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to plan and manage workload to ensure all key deadlines is met.

Preferred qualifications:
• CPA, ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent is preferred.
