About the position

 

The Global Material Science department seeks a highly motivated and self-driven associate to serve as a Material Administrator in support of key research and development projects. The ideal candidate must have a four year degree and excellent organizational skills. The associate will be responsible for planning, coordinating and executing the timely delivery of raw materials in support of targeted R&D projects. The successful candidate will be high energy, process oriented, and have strong communication skills

 

Primary Responsibilities

·  High levels of coordination of material shipping to and from development centers, including formulated compounds and raw materials
·  Monitor inventory levels and schedule material production at both internal and third party (and international) suppliers and mixers
·  Build and track project deliverables in new material coordination process
·  Maintenance of data records, and coordination of material release testing
·  Effective communication and collaboration with design teams, procurement, supply chain, quality, suppliers, and manufacturing to ensure successful development and technology transfer
·  Document new processes and training
·  Set up new materials within affected systems

 

Required Education and Experience

·  Bachelor degree in business, supply chain, or technology
·  Experience or coursework in supply chain or operations is preferred
·  Experience or coursework in chemistry or material science is preferred
·  Familiarity with material and/or chemical technology is preferred
·  Demonstrated examples of strong organizational skills is required

 

Abilities and Skills

·  Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in cross-functional teams will be required
·  Exceptional communication and technical documentation skills will be required
·  Experience collaborating with international partners and suppliers is preferred
·  The associate needs to be open minded, optimistic, and collaborative with a strong sense of urgency.
·  Familiarity with Goodyear’s procurement process and policies is preferred
·  Familiarity with material handling and the tire production processes is preferred
