Role Summary/Purpose

The Wind Technician EHS Coordinator for “San Matías” Wind Farm located in San Felipe, BC., México, will play an active role in the daily operations and execution of the service contract as it pertains to fulfilling our contractual obligations to our customer. This will include, but not be limited to, preventive maintenance and repair of GE Wind Turbine Generators (WTG), This person is responsible for developing and encouraging the safe working culture across the site
Essential Responsibilities

·  The Wind Technician EHS Coordinator will be responsible for Draft / Review Lock out Tag out (LOTO), Tail Board, Work Desk Instruction (WDI), and other job specific documentation that is required to conduct our business in the safest manner possible.
·  In addition to these standard Technician responsibilities, you will drive the site safety culture by leading a multifunctional safety team and providing safety and environmental training to others, perform inspections of equipment, tools and facility for compliance with GE policy and Governmental safety and Environmental regulations.  
·  Perform planned and unplanned maintenance, repair or replacement of parts to correct malfunctions.
·  Troubleshoot complicated mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on variable pitch, variable speed turbines.
·  Help in all areas of site operations as directed by manager with minimal supervision.
·  Document all work performed using computer-based service reporting procedures.
·  Work with and respond to GE’s Remote Operations Center where and when necessary.
·  Conduct field compliance inspections at various turbines in the service area on a frequent basis.
·  Coordinate waste storage and disposal where contractually obligated.
·  Drive record keeping, maintain inspection logs, review /update site training tracker, and complete other reports as needed.
·  Actively take ownership and participate in EHS Committees, conference calls and meetings.
·  Execute post-incident investigations and drive closure of Root Cause Anlaysis (RCA) at the direction of Operations and EHS Leadership.
·  Update Gensuite® tools / data (i.e., Action Tracking System, Compliance Calendar, Incident Reports, Initial Report, OPS Metrics, and Training Tracker).
·  Have the primary role of wind turbine technician with up to 50% of EHS Coordinator responsibilities.

Qualifications/Requirements

·  Applicant must be able to fully read/understand English at technical level. 
·  Study program, courses and exams will be at GE Renewable Energy Learning Center in New York.
·  Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 1 year of work experience in Electrical / Electronic repair industry and/or EHS responsibilities OR Associate degree in a Technical Electrical / Electronic discipline from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 4 years of work experience in Electrical / Electronic repair industry and a minimum of 1 year of experience with balance of plant (BOP) operations and/or EHS responsibilities OR High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 6 years of work experience in the Electrical / Electronic repair industry and a minimum of 1 year of experience with balance of plant (BOP) operations and/or EHS responsibilities.  
·  Ability and willingness to handle repetitive weight of 50 lbs.
·  Ability and willingness to climb towers up to 300 feet, as required.
·  Ability and willingness to work in all weather conditions, as required.
·  Ability and willingness to work in range of environments to include but not limited to industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, and power industry facilities, as required.
·  Ability and willingness to possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Desired Characteristics

·  EHS experience/knowledge of Management systems, metrics, KPI's.
·  Ability and willingness to read Mechanical and Electrical schematics.
·  Proficient computers skills in Excel, Word, Web Tools.
·  Working knowledge of GE internal programs such as GenSuites, ServiceNow, RACES, BOX, and Support Central web sites.
·  Minimum of 2 years of experience with safety and environmental regulations.
·  Advanced computer skills utilizing word processing, spreadsheet processing, e-mail programs, facility control and management systems, and computer diagnostic and troubleshooting tools. 
·  Ability and willingness to read and interpret technical manuals, procedures, and regulations.
·  Ability and willingness to write reports.
·  Ability and willingness to subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
·  Wind facility operations experience and wind turbine experience.
·  Advanced electrical / mechanical background.
·  Ability and willingness to take initiative and work without direct supervision.
·  Knowledge of heavy equipment required for facility maintenance with a working knowledge of crane and rigging requirements.
·  Comprehensive writing skills to meet contractual reporting obligations, as required.
