Role Summary/Purpose

Tooling Engineer is responsible with tools and fixture identification, usage and optimization.
Essential Responsibilities

•Identification of the tools and fixture needs, from qualitative and quantitative point of view and design them for the machinery processes
•Establishes the design and execution time frames, in such a way to be available in manufacturing in proper time.
•Test the tools and fixtures, ensures their proper function in manufacturing and technical assistance as well
•Establish the consumables necessary for the fixtures and makes sure that are ordered in time
•Maintains the technical collaborations with tooling manufacturing supplier
•Prepares the technical specifications and technical drawings that must follow the order, including fixture for handling and lifting
•Establishes the necessary tools and fixtures in case of new projects, investments, or continuous improvement processes. Accountable for the design and execution timetables, according to investment project milestones or improvement implementation deadlines.
•Coordinates the activity of monitoring, maintenance, reconditioning and fixing the fixtures.
•Develops fixtures for machinery processes, assembly and testing,more efficient and safer.
•Draws-up the equipment layout, working places and materials
•Maximizes the working places environments, ergonomic and makes recommendations to improve the lighting, working tables.
•Analysis the capability of the new products in order to implement new processes for testing and assembly
•Makes proposals for new tooling investments to improve the manufacturing processes.
•Participate in LEAN initiative, and engage Six Sigma tools for process improvements
•Bring new ideas and positive support to the current process
•Implement productivity actions in order to improve the process and respect objectives
•Participate in EH&S related actions, to improve safety in own area
•Interface with vendors and internal contacts in an effective manner to ensure that the technical and EH&S perspective is properly conveyed
Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is preferred
• Significant experience in Tooling Engineering
