Role Summary/Purpose

The Vandalia Test Technician B will perform all responsibilities of testing, measuring, and recording for acceptance of electrical power equipment in a production environment and/or perform product development and qualifications of electrical power equipment in a lab environment. We currently have openings working 2nd Shift hours from 6:00am-2:30pm.
Essential Responsibilities

·  Read and use electronic/electrical schematics 
·  Read and follow detailed work instructions and interpret technical documents 
·  Practically apply basic math calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of fractions, decimals and whole numbers) 
·  Conversion of numbers to and from metrics 
·  Apply common sense understanding to common situations and solve job related problems requiring occasional assistance 
·  Read and understand applicable information such as written instructions, procedures and specifications that apply to daily operations
·  Complete assemblies using nuts, bolts, and screws 
·  Perform mechanical measurements using scales, calipers, and gauges 
·  Perform electrical measurements using DVMs, oscilloscopes, and other electrical measuring devices 
·  Use pneumatic and hand tools to perform assembly tasks 
·  Perform all tasks or operations per router instructions (i.e. Proficy) 
·  Record all non-conformances in applicable systems (i.e. TipQA) 
·  Read and complete forms and generate meaningful reports and charts 
·  Make decisions based on experience and available data 
·  Demonstrate manual dexterity to perform assembly tasks in a safe and efficient manner  
·  Conform to all EHS guidelines including, but not limited to, wearing required PPE 
·  Work in an area where there may be moderate noise intensity (85 to 89.9 dBa) and areas where hearing protection is required 
·  Work in an area where, due to normal machining operations, there may be dust, fumes, or smoke (not over OSHA Permissible Exposure Levels) 
·  Lift up to 25 pounds repetitively, occasionally lifts up to 35 pounds non-repetitively, and sometimes lift over 35 pounds with assistance 
·  Successful candidate may be required to take classes in team building, environmental health and safety, and/or other on-the-job training to learn specific assignments 
·  Comply with and support all GE policies and the “Integrity: The Spirit and The Letter of Our Commitment” guide

Qualifications/Requirements

·  Associate's degree in an electronics technology discipline from an accredited university OR
·  Military training equivalent
