Role Summary/Purpose

The primary role is to manage the company's Indirect Tax obligations across multiple jurisdictions with the highest integrity and complying with tax laws. Entry level professional position which requires a good understanding of business processes, routines and procedures. The principal responsibilities of the role include preparation, review, timely submission, settlement and reconciliation activities related to the Indirect Tax filings for the GE Businesses.
Essential Responsibilities

1. Extract the appropriate Indirect Tax data and transactions from relevant Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and General Ledger ERP’s with support of IT and business finance teams
2. Review data for completeness and accuracy and ensure the data reflects the full coverage of The GE businesses in scope.
3. Prepare and update relevant tax provision schedules as needed
4. Prepare all Indirect Tax returns within scope of the role
6. Ensure that all tax filings across the region are submitted within the due dates.
7. Work together with the Tax team to manage engagements with internal and third- party tax advisors.
8. Prepare reconciliations of all Indirect Tax accounts and approve the account reconciliations on quarterly basis according to agreed deadlines.
9. Manage the process for issuance, collection and record retention of all Indirect Tax documentation including customer or supplier VAT certificates and import or export evidence, where these documents are required to support the tax treatment of transactions.
10. Update tax filing acknowledgement on the e-compliance tool.
11. Support Tax team, advisors and controllership team on all matters relating to Indirect Tax audits by relevant tax authorities including management of appropriate provisions.
12. Work with the Indirect Tax team and, where applicable, internal and third-party advisors, to research indirect tax technical issues impacting the accuracy of the returns.
Qualifications/Requirements

• 2-5 Years of experience
• Bachelors in Accounting/finance, CPA or equivalent.
• Strong accounting, controllership and analytical skills – able to link financial results to operational performance drives
• Experience leading cross-functional projects/process improvement within tax operations/finance function
• Good understanding of GE finance operation systems/routines/policies/standards
• Ability to prepare and deliver effective presentations
• Ability to build good partnership with all stakeholders in the processes
• Collaboration and communication skills
• Strategic, visionary and inclusive skills - ability to stay updated with market trends and external changes to apply knowledge in internal processes
