Role Summary/Purpose

The Reliability Engineer is responsible for developing and managing a comprehensive Reliability and Asset Management Strategy that is aligned with current industry best practices for both reliability and asset management. This role will be accountable for developing, leading, and continuously improving the reliability and asset management strategies used to insure the reliable and efficient performance of the asset base at the GE Healthcare Westborough manufacturing facility.
Essential Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, managing, and leading the site’s Reliability and Asset Management Strategy.
• Provide reliability engineering expertise and guidance for the manufacturing facility and its product teams.
• Identify and implement reliability tools and strategies to improve equipment and system uptime while reducing manufacturing downtime.
• Identify and implement improvements to the configuration of information and data collection within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Identify and implement improvements in existing maintenance strategies and PM plans by performing PM Optimizations and evaluating Predictive Maintenance and Conditioned Based Maintenance options. (e.g. Infrared, Vibration Monitoring, Oil analysis etc.)
• Implement the use of reliability tools and systems such as Criticality Analysis, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Failure Reporting Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) and additional tools as appropriate.
• Review and analyze data generated from the CMMS to identify adverse trends and opportunities for improvements in equipment maintenance or design.
• Identify and lead the development and improvement of a robust inventory management system that insures the availability of critical spares.
• Provide SME guidance and direction to maintenance technicians and production operators to drive productivity and reliability on the floor.
• Participate Assist with troubleshooting problems, discrepancies and investigations of failure modes and/or nonconformance.
• Develop and/or improve maintenance work instructions and operating procedures.
• Establish, track, and report reliability metrics and scorecards. Present data to the Facilities Leader and Site Leadership Team.
• Provides SME input to new equipment, system, and facility improvements and/or designs as a member of the project/design team.
• Comply with all components of the organizational and site Quality Management Systems as well as environmental, safety and health policies and procedures.
• Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Identify cost/waste/energy reduction opportunities.
• Conducts or participates in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA).
• Identify cost/waste/energy reduction opportunities.

Responsibilities
• 50% Develop and implement Reliability Engineering program
• 20% Review, improve, and update SOPs, Parts Lists, BOMs and CMMS data integrity for existing equipment.
• 15% Perform data analysis and provide metrics
• 15% Implement improvement strategies and engineering changes

Other Job Requirements
• May be required to travel for business reasons, e.g. training and meetings.
• Must be able to work in controlled or clean room environments requiring special gowning.
• May be around moving equipment and machinery.
• Pace may be fast and job completion demands may be high.
• May be required to visually inspect frequently when completing the following job duty: start-up, troubleshooting, inspection and commissioning of equipment.
Qualifications/Requirements

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline is required
• A minimum of six (5) years professional experience working in a manufacturing facility as a Reliability Engineer.
• Expert experience/knowledge in the maintenance and reliability of manufacturing equipment is required.
• Demonstrated ability to monitor and analyze data and to correct negative variances required.
• Expert level understanding of equipment reliability and asset management is required.
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is required. Experience with Infor EAM is preferred.
• Knowledge and experience operating within Quality Management Systems (e.g. CAPA, nonconformance reporting) is preferred.
• The ability to collaborate with resources from all levels in a cross-functional team environment is required
• The ability to make effective management level presentations and write formal reports dealing with both technical and business aspects is required
• Medical device or pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred
