Role Summary/Purpose

As part of the global commercial Onshore Wind team, the Regional Value Engineer will be responsible for driving a culture and methodology of value optimization across commercial transactions in the region. This leader will collaborate with customers, the commercial team and other supporting functions to maximize the value our offerings bring to the customer while also improving GE’s profitability.

Essential Responsibilities

·  Engage with commercial team and customers early in the sales process to understand customer needs, financial metrics and buying criteria

·  Coordinate with the Application Engineering team to translate AEP and other site layout optimization efforts into customer value and LCOE improvement
·  Focus on balance of plant and installation cost improvements with customers and other GE support functions involved in this scope
·  Coordinate with the Services COE and Product Development teams to ensure all services related value levers are considered and conveyed to customers
·  Create new value levers and optimization tools through deep understanding of customer/market economics
·  Share best practices across the entire team to ensure continuous improvement on a global level
·  Ensure continuous collaboration with supporting functions such as Product Development, Engineering and Sourcing with regards to customer feedback on value levers and value creation
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor Degree in Economics, Business, Finance, Engineering or Science from an accredited college or university
·  Minimum of 5 years of related or similar work in the wind industry, including customer facing experience
Desired Characteristics

·  Experience in or strong understanding of energy economics and financial modeling
·  Strong analytical capabilities and interpersonal, team building skills; ability to work with cross-functional colleagues at all levels of the organization to drive actionable positive outcomes
·  Experience in energy project economics, wind technology engineering, wind resource assessments, balance of plant/installation, and/or services
·  Skilled communicator who is able to exchange complex information in an external facing capacity
