Role Summary/Purpose

Real Estate Counsel – China provides real estate legal advice to GE in China and select surrounding countries. Counsel will be expected to drive risk mitigation and ensure compliance with GE real estate legal standards and practices.
Essential Responsibilities

• Provide advice and support to internal clients regarding commercial real estate law in China and select surrounding countries; work with other members of the real estate legal group and business leaders to provide legal advice to support business goals. 
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial leases, purchase and sale agreements, construction agreements, license agreements, internal space agreements, easements and related documents (amendments, assignments and letter agreements). 
• Assist with lease review and interpretation and support landlord dispute matters. 
• Manage and resolve legal issues relating to real estate regulatory matters. 
• Support real estate legal risk and compliance standards.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Real estate law experience at a large law firm or corporate legal department, including but not limited to drafting, negotiating leases and purchase and sale agreements 

• Demonstrated experience identifying and resolving legal issues quickly. 
• Ability to prioritizing conflicting demands from multiple business clients in a fast-paced environment. 
• Ability to communicate in English 
• Experience working in a matrix organization.

• Minimum of 8 years of legal experience in China
