Role Summary/Purpose
The Dowty Field Services Representative will provide direction and assistance to work group in order to meet assigned objectives. In this Propeller Technician role, you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning. The role will be located in Germany.
Essential Responsibilities
· Provide direction and assistance to work group to meet assigned objectives
· Work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity
· Resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning
· Provide Onsite propeller maintenance inclusive of: Repairs, modification and preventative maintenance
· Work scope includes both On-Wing and Off Wing repairs
· Perform (OJT) On Job Training with technical instructions
· Provide general technical direction and assistance to the customer in the operation, maintenance, repair, logistic support, and installation of GE products
· Provide on-site interpretation of data and technical instruction
· Provide Project Engineering, Program Management and Field Service management with complete and prompt information regarding status of programs, customer problems, failures, trends, and climate
· Provide technical assistance through on-site guidance and (OJT) training in proper operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of assigned programs and ground support equipment, including the use and proper interpretation of data and technical instructions
· Provide communication to Product Support and Field Service regarding all program activities and problems through regular, timely reports
· Be responsible for reports, including; obtaining, interpreting, and communicating significant market intelligence and sales opportunities for both assigned programs and support
· Assist customer in scheduling maintenance and workload
· Assist in ensuring parts meet established schedules
· Report malfunctions and identify / analyze any undesirable trends
· Make recommendations on findings
· Review effectiveness of maintenance actions in order to identify training needs
· Anticipate requirements beyond those that immediately affect the program and assist in implementing actions to satisfy those requirements
· Perform intermediate and depot level maintenance
· Provide on-call and extended shift field service support
· Conduct hands-on-training for Government personnel in aircraft operation, maintenance, and safety proficiency
· Perform Certification release for equipment maintained
· All on site life extensions, repairs and inspection-related service activities able to be performed at customer site, including
· onsite machining
· NDT
· blading
· winding
· critical welding
· generator diagnostics
· Major contribution to the development of an operational year plan for own department activities of the team
· Suggest improvements in products, processes and procedures
· Contacts are under guidance and/or geared towards specifying activities, planning of activities and giving explanations on technical issues
· Work on the basis of predefined contracts and frameworks
· Some latitude to deviate from those conditions
· Please Note: Work Location listed is Sterling, VA. However, candidate must be open to relocation as the final assignment for this position will be Germany
Qualifications/Requirements
· Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (Or a high school diploma / GED with strong experience in Engineering or Engineering Apprenticeship) or equivalent knowledge and experience
· Significant experience in a field service or maintenance position
· Ability and willingness to relocate to meet the needs of the business
· Ability and willingness to provide on-call and extended shift field service support
· Capable of lifting a minimum of 50 pounds
· This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status prior to employment

Desired Characteristics
· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college or equivalent knowledge and experience
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
· Proven analytical and quality improvement ability
· Ability to interface at all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
· C130J maintenance experience (US applicable). ‘Hands On’ repair experience and propulsion systems knowledge
· Self-starter comfortable working as a remote team member
· Experience with military logistic / supply processes (N/A)
· Composite repair experience
· Capable of managing multiple and varied tasks
