Role Summary/Purpose

The product structuring engineer has technical responsibility for defining standards & configuration of product designs where assigned to product groups of Well Systems i.e System, Well barrier, Structures & Piping, Completions or Tooling products. The role will work collaboratively with the global centre of excellence teams in establishing standards and maintenance activities for competitive product life cycle management.
Essential Responsibilities

• Interpret specifications in the definition & maintenance of product standards.
• Approve & prepare functional product design specifications.
• Approve & prepare product bill of materials in Teamcentre.
• Undertake technical reviews in the definition & maintenance of product standards.
• Interpret supply chain & manufacturing requirements in the definition of product standards.
• Undertake design verification, which may include but not limited to: risk analysis, failure analysis, finite element analysis, flow assurance, or calculations to establish product design verification packages.
• Approve & prepare procedures e.g testing, and documentation e.g datasheets, which support product definitions.
• Identify improvements in existing products, procedures and processes which target cost-out & additive/lean manufacturing practices.
• Collaborate with product management in understanding market requirements for standards
• Collaborate with supply chain manufacturing for improvements in existing products designs.
• Ensure product designs conform with latest regulatory, environmental & safety standards with implementation of necessary revisions and/or obsolesce of parts.
• Communicate product design standards for interpretation & adherence by others.
• Plan and deliver engineering activities required in product life cycle management.
• Interpret business metrics and field performance data in continuous improvement of product design standards.
Qualifications/Requirements

• Degree qualification in engineering from accredited university or college.
• Practical knowledge product design process and product life cycle management.
• Practical knowledge of product standards & drafting standards.
• Practical knowledge of supply chain practices e.g forging, machining, welding, coating.
• Interpersonal and communication skills.
• Report writing and presentation skills.
• Ability to synthesize information, identify problems, establish facts and deduce solutions
