Role Summary/Purpose

The role holder will work with the Service Chief Engineer and other parts of Service, including all GE modalities, Field service, training center, Digital Service Operations, and Digital Technology to provide technology leadership that are critical to providing world class service to GEHC customers and benefit the business financially
Essential Responsibilities

This role requires the interaction with other design engineering teams, method engineers, online Center engineers to ensure the product performance, functionality, cost, serviceability and quality/reliability goals set forth by the business.
In this role, you will:
• Define/consolidate standards and targets for the modalities around Service Knowledge
•Help navigate service to the right knowledge platform by bench marking the marketplace for the best solution.
•Assess existing knowledge base systems and evaluate machine learning, AI and CRM trend harvesting
•Collaborate with GE Healthcare business and functional partners and technology leadership to define and then own high priority, high impact projects
•Lead design development for advance technology projects by coordinating efforts with other principal engineers and explore multiple design options.
•Enable fast prototyping of new technologies by owning design, modeling and implementation.
•Develop and maintain quality and engineering project funnel. Hands on experience and able to develop concepts.
•Works with method engineers to ensure service methods meet DFS standands
•Demonstrate technical and/or scientific thought leadership within and outside of GE
•Guide multi-generational technology and/or scientific strategies based on understanding of the market, customer needs, competitors, and regulatory requirements/standards
•Lead the intellectual property strategy for a technology or scientific function or product area based on understanding of GE and competitive technologies •Oversee standardization,technical designreviews and quality culture
•Work with internal and external organizations (GRC, academics, vendors, etc.) to develop technical and/or scientific differentiation for the future
•Teaches,coaches, and mentors less experienced engineers and/or scientists

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
• A minimum of 15 years of technical experience

• Knowledge of regulatory and safety requirements for Medical Devices

• Experience with medical device production or operation or servicing
