Role Summary/Purpose

The Plant Systems Application Engineer, Water Steam Cycle (PSAE-WSC) will have high level of expertise in water steam cycle scope of the combined cycle power plant with focus on plant system optimization, WSC concepts & systems and plant operability. The PSAE-WSC will be responsible to meet all proposal deliverables associated with power plant systems and plant guarantees to develop winning proposals by adding customer value.
Essential Responsibilities

The PSAE-WSC will support the proposals from pre-ITO to handover to OTR phases by closely working with the proposal team.

Typical responsibilities include:

·  Review the customer project requirements and be knowledgeable of the selected proposal technical strategy
·  Select the appropriate GE and outsourced products to fulfill the customer requirements
·  Produce the proposal content necessary to describe the equipment and services being offered
·  Interface with vendors to define product requirements and evaluate offerings for technical compliance and value
·  Effective coordination with other engineering disciplines, sourcing, estimating, suppliers, partners and subcontractors
·  Ensure competitiveness (technical & cost) of the equipment and engineering services being proposed
·  Collaborate with the application engineering, product management and engineering teams to ensure that our product offerings continue to provide high customer value
·  Support customer meetings and site visits as necessary

Typical deliverables include:

·  Proposal write-ups- Mechanical Equipment/ Operability tabs
·  Work w /Sourcing & Estimating for costs for WSC scope items
·  Prepare M190 Cycle Overview Drawings
·  Prepare / obtain Start-up curves
·  Prepare/Obtain Operability Guarantee
·  Prepare any additional WCS Flow Diagrams as necessary for proposal
·  Prepare Deviations and Clarifications for proposal book
·  Review and comment to Project DOR relative to WSC items
·  Water Chemistry specification (if required)
·  Sampling system flowsheet (if required)
·  Pre-operational cleaning concept (if required)
·  Prepare BOE input (if required)

Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or other related Engineering from an accredited college or university or equivalent knowledge / experience
·  Significant engineering experience in combined cycle power plant application with focus on power plant and or balance of plant systems
Desired Characteristics

·  Graduate degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or related engineering discipline or equivalent knowledge / experience
·  Domain expertise in water steam cycle systems including steam turbine, rapid response, plant start-up and emissions
·  Proven experience in plant innovation is preferred
·  Self-directed, Self-motivation and able to perform independently with minimal guidance
·  Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential
·  Strong strategic planning skills
·  Proven ability to manage multiple overlapping projects
·  Proven ability to drive key projects to completion within a across business matrix organization
