Role Summary/Purpose

The Performance Engineer has functional responsibility for assigned engineering work. Primary responsibilities include modeling, configuration and delivery of thermal performance monitoring & Industrial Internet suite of thermal performance models & analytics. You will work with the Performance Engineering, Fleet Services & Power Digital teams to support the delivery of GE Digital Solutions.
Essential Responsibilities

·  Support Big Data and Industrial Internet initiatives through thermodynamic modeling existing power plants using industry standard tools, validating results using engineering principles, and deploying to the central system.
·  Apply creative problem solving skills to develop solutions to product delivery and development challenges, or in support of business programs.
·  Configure, install, validate, and provide ongoing support for the online performance monitoring and diagnostic systems.
·  Use GateCycleTM and GTP modeling software tools to configure thermal models to support the requisition of GE suite of thermal performance monitoring systems and big data/industrial internet initiatives.
·  Perform engineering studies for Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine and Combined Cycle plant performance. 
·  Provide critical Engineering support for business programs (Simplification/Cost-out, cross functional engineering initiatives, etc.).
·  Train plant personnel on use of performance monitoring systems.
·  Travel to domestic and foreign power plants (up to 15%).
·  Document technical data consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
·  Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments.
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aeronautical engineering or equivalent.
·  Working knowledge of power plant operation, thermodynamics and thermal performance.
·  Excellent written and oral communication skills to convey technical concepts to business and technical personnel.
·  Excellent analytical skills working independently and in a team.
·  Legal right to work in México. We will not sponsor individuals for legal permits or visas.
·  In case of being a GEIQ employee, you must have previously occupied a position as an E or E1.
Desired Characteristics

·  Experience in plant performance, systems & operations.
·  Working knowledge of thermodynamic modeling & simulation software.
