Role Summary/Purpose

Will be responsible for handling administrative tasks re LM patent portfolio independently and on his / her own motion including cost transparency and general team assistance.
Work in close co-operation with several stakeholders (Internal/External) such as our global patents team, external patent agents, national patent offices (Like European Patent Office (EPO), UK & DK) and our inventors based at our various R&D and production sites around the world.
Essential Responsibilities

Day to Day Responsibilities:
• Docketing and case creation in Anaqua patent database
• Continuous update database including uploading of case related documents
• Due date monitoring for internal patent attorneys and outside counsel
• Filing of EP, PCT and UK patent applications as well as DK validations with the respective PTOs
• Filing of EP oppositions and appeals
• Submission of replies to office actions, claim amendments etc. to EPO
• Handling of formalities.
• Instructions re national stage applications to foreign associates
• Fee payment
• Approval and monitoring of invoices
• Communication with inventors
• Replies to general enquiries
• Team assistance
• Tutoring and mentoring of other team members
• Assistance in providing cost transparency and split
• Creation and extraction of database lists for statistics as well as portfolio and costs overviews
• Coordination of IPR Board Meetings, assistance with PP presentations, follow up on action items
• Calculation / check of inventor rewards
• Archiving
Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Patents.

We expect you to have handled all administrative parts of EP patents from pre-filing to post-grant for several years – either with a patent law firm or in the industry. Preferably, you have passed your exams as a Qualified Intellectual Property Administrator or corresponding exams based on which you can handle any administrative tasks including filings and submissions re EP and PCT cases independently and in compliance with the all due care principles. You are an experienced user of EPO online services and are eligible for an EPO smart card.

While you will take on responsibility and set high standards by which your work is measured, you will also carry out routine tasks such as updating our patent database and uploading documents recognising the importance of such tasks.

You are a self-motivating team-player working systematically and in a transparent manner, and with the ability to work under pressure. It is your natural desire to continually stay updated with IP law and requirements. Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.

The patent team is based in 5 different locations in 4 different time zones and works closely with internal and external stakeholders and provides IP-services necessary to secure our investment in new technologies and provide freedom to operate and innovate in the field of wind turbine blades.
LM Wind Power’s IPR team is part of the LM Department of Engineering Excellence.
You will work in close co-operation with several stakeholders such as our global patents team, our inventors based at our various R&D and production sites around the world, outside counsel in Denmark as well as in the countries we seek protection in, and our Finance team.
You will be based in India but work from Kolding the first three months of your employment. Hereafter, you will be expected to work form Kolding occasionally on demand.
