Role Summary/Purpose

Performs project engineering assignments including software, hardware, and/or systems integration, and custom software development in support of a customer. This is a project software services role with onsite customer and service focus.
Essential Responsibilities

·  Delivers transmission and/or distribution, integrating software applications for customer projects.

·  Provides technical direction in the overall system design and has responsibility for system integration and testing.

·  Follows standard processes to integrate and deliver projects in an efficient manner, including use of automated deployment and testing.

·  Conducts technical review of application designs and works with the application areas to ensure that project requirements are met.

·  Completes advanced tasks in diagnosing and fixing systems and application problems.

·  Ensures generation of project and system documentation and that internal testing is completed. Responsible for development of progress reports to the customer. Responsible for documentation on all tasks and development work assigned.

·  Interfaces with customers on general and specific issues within area of functional expertise.

·  Works directly with the customer to resolve any technical issues that may develop. Keeps customers abreast of technical developments.

·  Performs custom software development tasks.

·  Provides input to technical lead on schedules and cost estimates.

·  Works with Project Manager to create project schedules, scope changes, and execute.
Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

·  Bachelor’s degree with no experience OR high school diploma with 4+ years of experience.

Eligibility Requirements:

·  Willing to work remotely in West Palm FL

·  Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% domestic and international

·  Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job
Desired Characteristics

·  3+ years of experience with software design and software integration

·  3+ years of experience using programming languages: C++ or C# or Java and Python or Perl

·  Strong transmission or distribution power system, outage management system applications exposure, or knowledge of Energy Markets. Knowledge of renewable energy integration, distributed energy resource management (DERMS), and scenario based simulations

·  Work experience at an electric utility company in operation or IT support

·  Experience with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) or Power system engineering such as network analysis, optimization, state estimation or load flow analysis

·  Power system utility work experience specifically related to control room technology

·  Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Work experience to write professional and technical reports and procedures. Ability to make informal presentations to technical and non-technical staff and customers.

·  Ability to prioritize work assignments and shift work efforts based on the needs of the department or business goals.

·  Ability to work independently and be self-motivated working at the customer location.

·  Ability to work effectively, collaborate and share knowledge in a team environment.

·  Demonstrate a high degree of personal and professional integrity.

·  Ability to occasionally work non-standard hours to accommodate business needs.
