Role Summary/Purpose
The Monitoring and Diagnostics Engineer will work with GE Contract Performance Managers (CPM), GE Field Engineers, & Power Plant control room operators to provide remote monitoring and diagnostics of Gas Turbine and Steam Turbine industrial power plants. They will review turbine operational data & alarms to identify power plant trends & abnormalities.
Essential Responsibilities
As the Monitoring and Diagnostics Engineer you will:
· Provide operational recommendations to customers that must be accurate, of high quality, & be done in a timely fashion to meet customer needs & business goals
· Review customer operational data in tabular as well as graphical format
· Analyze operational data in accordance with defined procedures
· Interface with a variety of internal technical teams on operational issues requiring further technical review
· Communicate in writing and verbally with customers to ensure operational concerns are fully understood
· Provide technical recommendations to customers from known information and procedures
· Collaborate with senior engineers to develop new solutions that meet customer needs
· Generate and implement new ideas for improved coverage of the GE Fleet of power generation equipment and improved productivity of operations center activities
· Develop a strong team and breeds positive moral
· Understand business objectives and drives specific tasks required to meet the objectives
· Understand GE's products, capabilities and limitations in sufficient detail to be able to develop offerings that meet customer needs
· Communicate the business vision effectively in an open and consistent manner
· Encourage input from all members of the team
· Anticipate customer needs and ensures that they are met
· Measure processes and performance through the customer's eyes
· Communicate messages clearly and concisely
· Energize teams through inclusiveness and connection with people

Qualifications/Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or related field of study from an accredited college or university
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
· Ability and willingness to work 8 hour shifts on Day, Evening, or Night Shift with non-standard weekends

· Experience that would demonstrate technical knowledge and understanding of Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine and generator systems

· Demonstrated ability to meet goals and objectives
· PC Proficiency
· Displays good interpersonal skills - is accessible and approachable
