Role Summary/Purpose

In this role, you will work in a team environment to perform inspections, troubleshoot, and repair of aircraft and MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) of engines and all associated systems using, safe, cost effective maintenance procedures.
Essential Responsibilities

·  Jet engine module removal & installation, including performing various machining and repair operations, using hand tools, specialized tools, equipment and fixtures

·  Complete all documentation in a neat and proficient manner according to company policies and procedures

·  Install, inspect, test, adjust, or repair test engines

·  Set up and operate test equipment to perform functional tests on engine systems

·  Lay out installation of assemblies / systems / instrumentation on aircraft turbine engines, according to blueprints and wiring diagrams

·  Ability to understand and use:
·  technical orders
·  maintenance manuals
·  illustrated parts catalogs
·  component overhaul manuals
·  engine manuals
·  service bulletins
·  and airworthiness directives

·  Perform engine rigging procedures

·  Troubleshoot and perform engine system tests

·  Perform the highest quality of work consistently

·  Ability to fill out - with attention to detail:
·  parts tags
·  log books
·  engineering logs
·  component change logs
·  routine and non-routine task cards
·  and part requisitions correctly

·  Knowledgeable in environmental safety policies and procedures

·  Certified to operate man lifts and forklifts

·  Properly handle and dispose of HAZMAT
·  Report on monthly usage

·  Perform any other task as assigned by the Shop Supervisor or Lead Technician

Qualifications/Requirements

·  High School Diploma / GED

·  Minimum 5 years of related technical experience

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT(S):

·  Must hold a current DOD Secret clearance

·  Ability and willingness to work 10 hours per day from Tuesday to Friday on a weekly basis
·  Ability and willingness to work in an environment that is subject to changing climate conditions and moderate noise levels

·  Capability and willingness of lifting 50 pounds (with or without assistance)

·  Ability and willingness to travel as needed

Desired Characteristics

·  Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License

·  Experience in sheet metal fabrication

·  Experience in welding

·  Experience in a machining environment

·  Experience in jet engine component repair / overhaul

·  Previous GE Military engine experience and knowledge to include:
·  Line maintenance
·  Engine changes
·  Module removal & installation
·  and/or LRU removals and installations

·  Two-year technical degree from an accredited school or institution

·  Strong communication and people skills

·  Problem solving and organizational skills

·  Ability to read and understand Company and Manufacturer Manuals

·  Ability to perform maintenance functions unsupervised at any time

·  Experience with instrumentation application and troubleshooting

·  Experience working in Jet engine test cell environment
