Role Summary/Purpose
Looking to utilize your design skills and develop new ones? Become part of an engineering team that always thrives to deliver top of the line products! Carry out conceptual and detailed design, of avionics equipment utilizing SolidWorks.
Essential Responsibilities
· Build detailed 3D models of hardware components
· Analyze component designs to ensure mechanical and functional viability
· Design and fabricate prototype parts
· Document and maintain component design data
· Ensure hardware components meet industry codes and laws
· Material specification and selection, for hardware components
· Assist in component testing activities to ensure adequate component mortality rates
· Coordinate with external contractors to prioritize and develop structural engineering design projects and plans
· Specify materials for detail parts, based on the structural and environmental requirements for hardware assemblies
· Analyze aircraft structural installation designs, to ensure the design meets specifications and regulatory codes
· Continual improvement of the quality management systems efficiency
Qualifications/Requirements
· Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university or college
Eligibility Requirements:
· Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job
Desired Characteristics
· Two years' experience in Mechanical Component Design
· Structural analysis knowledge, exposure to FEM
· Mechanical part design, material selection, prototype and fabrication experience
· SolidWorks – 3D Modeling, stress analysis
