Role Summary/Purpose

As part of the GE India Multi-modal Manufacturing team, the Welder is responsible for all types welding operations and produce defect free parts with continual improvement of overall welding productivity.
Essential Responsibilities

• Welding of sheet metal parts, Pipe joints and Structural steel parts.
• Welding of stainless steel, carbon steel, Inconel, mild steel parts.
• Repair of defective carbon steel & stainless steel castings.
• Welding and fabrication by using TIG, MIG, SAW and Arc welding processes.
• Ability to analyze and interpret design drawings, manuals, SOP and other material to determine finish product.
• Assembly of welded products.
Qualifications/Requirements

1. Any graduate or Diploma or ITI with 4 – 8 years of experience in welding and fabrication.
2. To qualify welding process as per ASME – Sec IX qualifying welding procedure specification (WPS) and procedure qualification record (PQR) for similar and dissimilar metals.
3. He should be AWS 17.1(IIA,IIIB) certified.
4. To qualify radiography joints for level 2.
5. To perform Nondestructive test (NDT) like liquid penetrant (LP) or die penetrant (DP) tests.
6. Highest Levels of Personal Integrity and Safety Mindset.
7. Experience in engineering industry – with firsthand experience of fabrication shop.
8. Knowledge in welding machines usage and their accessories like welding positioners, Bevellers, Rollers, 3D welding tables, etc.
