Role Summary/Purpose

As part of the GE India Multi-modal Loco team, the Jr. Engineer (Material Planner), is responsible for PR/PO, Supplier identification, RFQ, Negotiation and continuous improvements on cost reduction. Main duty of keeping production flowing smoothly with the needed materials
Essential Responsibilities

• Must compliance to the GE legal and compliance policies
• Ensures a steady supply of products to customer
• Create and maintain an inventory schedule by watching trends and customer demands
• Handling customer complaints involving supply and delivery
• Identifying competent suppliers for various industrial equipment, tools, consumables, utility requirements.
• Identify and coordinate notice, input and resolution of material shortages/overages
• Interface with stakeholders to identify and coordinate the disposition of obsolete, non-conforming, and excess materials
• Analyze data to determine opportunities to decrease inventory, improve customer service levels, and reduce total costs in order to support lean manufacturing activities
• Assist the Purchasing Manager during customer contract development to ensure new supply agreements are implemented and executed effectively
• Working with warehouse team for timely supply of materials
• Ability to read blueprints, BOM and specifications
• Ability to learn and work on various digital tools,
• Must comply to all EHS requirements & actively support EHS programs in the plant.
Qualifications/Requirements

1. Highest Levels of Personal Integrity and Safety Mindset.
2. First Class Diploma in Mechanical / Production Engineering.
3. 2 to 3 Years of Experience in Engineering industry – with firsthand experience of material planning and Purchasing
4. Experience / Knowledge on Materials, project costing, Budget control
