Role Summary/Purpose

The intern will conduct basic and applied research of wearable devices for human health and performance monitoring, including solutions and devices for prototype testing, component design, materials testing, process development & optimization, and performance evaluation.

Qualifications/Requirements

·  Progressing towards Doctorate in Chemical & Materials Engineering, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or related discipline
·  Proven record of innovation, including peer-reviewed publications, in areas related to in areas related to biochemical/electrochemical physiological sensing and/or the development of wearable devices for human health and performance monitoring.

·  Ability and willingness to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY
·  Candidate must be 18 years or older

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT(S):

Desired Characteristics

·  Strong background in materials science and electrochemical systems, as well as hands-on experience in disposable wearable devices for wireless health monitoring 
·  Demonstrated expertise to invent, formulate, process, test and integrate electrodes and other electrochemical components into material and/or electronic systems.
·  Experience in the process development and integration of electrochemical components into material systems 
·  Skilled in data analytics, multi-physics modeling and simulation software (Python, R, COMSOL, ANSYS, MATLAB). Proficiency in typical office and data analytics software, e.g. JMP, MatLab, MiniTab, Office
·  Expertise in sports medicine and cognitive schence
·  Strong interpersonal skills, intiative and goals for a career in industrial research
·  Ability to adapt to change and willingness to be flexible in a global team environment
