Role Summary/Purpose
The purpose of this job is to build, repair, refurbish and maintain tools, jigs, fixtures and gages.
Essential Responsibilities
Works primarily with steel, aluminum, plastics and synthetics (other alloys and materials may also be utilized as intended as dictates). Must be able to program, set up, and troubleshoot and operate complex manual and/or CNC controlled, multi-tool equipment. Able to set up and operate all general machine ship equipment. This equipment includes, but is not limited to: CNC vertical mill, Lathe, Turret Lathe, Mills, Drill Presses, ID, OD, Surface & Tool Grinding Machines, Variety of Sheet Metal Processing Equipment and Band Saws.
Must be able to construct all kinds of equipment working from tool design, verbal descriptions and sketches. Examine tool drawings, parts, blueprints with geometric dimensioning, sketches and other specifications to determine general nature of tool, work to be done and other data. Performs lay out work using measuring instruments and a working knowledge of trigonometry and shop mathematics. Must be able to use micrometers, venires, gages, and other precision measuring devices to check and verify own work.
May be called upon to perform salvage and rework on production materials and some limited production activity.
Works with minimum supervision and schedules jobs based on work assignments received. Has a versatility to help Machine Repair and Precision Machinist as needed.
Qualifications/Requirements
High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school. Job requires 5 years of general machine shop experience and a minimum of 3 years of specialized experience in tool construction and repair. Must hold a Journeyman Card.

Candidates will be required to successfully complete both a written test and/or practical test.
