Role Summary/Purpose

As the Global Machining Buyer, you will build and manage supplier relationships, negotiate procurement and contracts for machined parts and support Commercial & Military product lines. In this role, you will be responsible for purchase order placement & execution, supplier strategy & capacity development, cost idea generation & execution, & supplier performance management. In addition, you will be responsible for adhering to GE Aviation compliance, quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
Essential Responsibilities

·  Drive timely negotiations & purchase order (PO) placements

·  Develop and implement strategies for assigned and new suppliers

·  Drive cost out projects and initiatives

·  Collaborate with team members and various functions to execute source changes and coordinate raw material

·  Actively participate in large scale negotiations & supplier performance reviews

·  Work cross-functionally to drive cost, delivery, quality, and supplier development

·  Manage relationships with suppliers for PO execution

·  Manages problems and schedules changes

·  Balance both tactical execution with strategic initiatives necessary to drive cost reduction projects

·  Provide technical / commercial assistance to Commodity Buyers to develop awareness of manufacturing processes and improve product knowledge
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (Or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Sourcing)

·  A minimum of 3 years of experience in Buying / Procurement, Manufacturing or Supply Chain
