Role Summary/Purpose

The Newark Machinist will provide machining support to the Production team.
Essential Responsibilities

In addition, as the Newark Machinist, you will:

·  Sets up and operates machine tools to make prototype and repeat manufacturing components as well as tooling
·  Component or tooling materials include:
·  metals
·  graphite
·  carbon-carbon
·  ceramic matrix composites
·  and others
·  Ability to independently setup and operate machines
·  Full mastery and understanding of MPDs
·  Responsible for mentoring novice machinist
·  Ability to operate three or more machines simultaneous
·  Ability to interpret and apply GD&T to machining, set-ups and inspection
·  Program and operate numerically controlled equipment such as the HAAS
·  Machine complex shapes to extremely close tolerances on various types of equipment including:
·  mills
·  grinders
·  lathes
·  and saws
·  Work with project engineers and devise new methods and processes to improve productivity or capabilities
·  Ability to work independently
·  Performs all work in a safe manner
·  Contributes to a safe work environment by proactively looking for potential hazards and correcting them
·  Will serve as a safety mentor

Qualifications/Requirements

·  High school diploma / GED
·  Minimum of 10 years of machining experience

Desired Characteristics

·  Experienced with entering data into a database
·  Good verbal and written communication skills
·  Knowledge of GD&T
·  Strong math skills
·  Excellent trouble-shooting skills
·  Experienced with database data entry (Filemaker Pro preferred)
·  Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a teaming environment
