Role Summary/Purpose
The Machinist – CVI will operate one or more of the following machines: CNC Machining Centers / Cells, CNC lathes, conventional mills, drills, lathes, grinders and/or other machines as assigned. In this role, you will be responsible and the authority to carry out assigned tasks.
Essential Responsibilities
· Work from blueprints, operator inspection plans and verbal instructions
· Obtain required tooling and materials from departmental storage area, returning when job is completed
· Obtain special tooling and inspection equipment as required
· Make necessary adjustments to equipment and or tooling to attain specified dimensions and finishes
· Perform in-process inspection as required on inspection plans
· Change cutting tools and machine attachments as required
· Notify coach when supplies reach low limit or are required, when tools need sharpening and when equipment needs maintenance
· Move tools and material by hand truck, lift truck, conveyor, or manually
· Keep area and equipment clean and orderly and lubricates equipment on a scheduled basis
· Fill out all necessary forms and verify counts when work is completed
· Other duties as required
Qualifications/Requirements
· High school diploma / GED
· Minimum of 4 years machining experience
