Role Summary/Purpose
Provide machining support to the Production team.
Essential Responsibilities
· Ability to do basic machine setups and operates machine tools to make prototype and repeat manufacturing components as well as tooling
· Component or tooling materials include metals, graphite, carbon-carbon, ceramic matrix composites and others
· Familiar / understands MPDs and relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
· Responsible for mentoring novice machinist
· Ability to operate two machines simultaneous
· Ability to interpret and apply GD&T to machining, set-ups and inspection
· Ability to do most program off sets and operates numerically controlled equipment such as the HAAS and Makino Mills
· Machine shapes on various types of equipment including mills, grinders, lathes and saws
· Work with project engineers and devise new methods and processes to improve productivity or capabilities
· Ability to work independently
· Performs all work in a safe manner
· Maintains a safe work environment and corrects hazards when identified
Qualifications/Requirements
· High School Diploma / GED
· Minimum of 5 years of machining experience (Including experience with database entry; Knowledge of GD&T)
Desired Characteristics
· Strong math skills
· Excellent trouble-shooting skills
· Experienced with database data entry (Filemaker Pro preferred)
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
· Ability to work in a teaming environment
· Good verbal and written communication skills
