Role Summary/Purpose
GE Power works in all areas of the energy industry with a full array of power generation, power
conversion, energy delivery, biogas and alternative fuels; coal, oil, natural gas and nuclear energy.
We are solving some the most complex challenges across the globe. Candidates will have the
opportunity to work with experienced engineers in the following areas: nuclear, gas engines,
power generation products, power generation services, aeroderivatives, electrification, grid, and
controls.
Essential Responsibilities
Technical EID assignment categories in GE Power include, but are not limited to:
Engineering:
Perform design and analysis of product lines may include steam turbine, gas turbines, gas
engines, generators, rotors, blades, buckets, vanes, nozzles, transformers, circuit breakers,
switchgear, etc. as well as provide manufacturing and field issues support. Responsibilities
include: develop and implement new design concepts and
design improvements. You may work with the drafting team to create or update the drawings, and
partner with the manufacturing team to solve problems that arise out of the complex manufacturing
processes required to make these parts. Support manufacturing engineering projects involving
manufacturing process improvements and product cost reduction.
Manufacturing:Responsible for
processes and procedures that drive customer satisfaction, quality, fulfillment, and direct material
productivity savings. You will work within a manufacturing environment to evaluate and identify
areas for improvement and implement these improvements. Additional projects may involve
working with cross-functional teams that focus on improving the quality of production areas. You
may utilize Lean Six Sigma methodologies in driving improvement through the production area.
Enhance and maintain technical knowledge of current standards, codes and procedures regarding
safe and effective use of production equipment. Sourcing: Achieve lowest possible cost for
material, balanced against optimum quality and schedule needs. You may solicit and evaluate
proposals employing appropriate negotiation, cost and price analysis techniques, using available
expertise from supporting organizations; Additional projects may involve implementing purchase
contracts following applicable company and government regulations, and evaluating current and
anticipated requirements. Other assignments in Environmental Health & Safety and Project
Engineering may also be available.

Qualifications/Requirements
Must have one to two semesters left prior to graduation and be enrolled in a full-time
undergraduate or graduate program in an engineering discipline as listed below.
Following majors accepted:Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical
Engineering, Coatings Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Material Science Engineering,
Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics Engineering, Nuclear
Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Welding Engineering, Other Engineering.
Must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (without rounding).
