Role Summary/Purpose

The post will be part of the fire protection team, based within the Facilities Department.
Essential Responsibilities

·  To control on site contractors, including Method Statement and Risk Assessment review and approval 
·  To maintain and test all fire protection equipment. 
·  To carry out fire patrols of all GE Wales properties.  
·  Operation of onsite CCTV system. 
·  Oversee and support onsite contracted Security provider. 
·  To administer first aid and Defibrillator as and when required. 
·  Issue work permits to contractors
Qualifications/Requirements

·  Shift Pattern 4 days on 4 days off including nights (365 days per year). 

·  Full working knowledge of CCTV systems, including programming, playback, recording and monitoring 
·  Knowledge of fire extinguishers, fire alarms sprinkler systems. 
·  Current driving licence. 
·  Prior experience in Security, including Gatehouse and Site Patrols.

Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role. Desired Characteristics

·  Hold a current First Aid at Work certificate. 
·  Working knowledge of contractor control and RAMS. 
·  Some Fire prevention/equipment experience. 
·  Have an understanding of Health and Safety. 
·  Computer literacy. 
·  Current knowledge of fire risk assessments.
