Role Summary/Purpose

The Field Service Technician position is a key part of the GE Wind Energy team and plays an essential role in the growth of wind energy services. The Service Technician performs scheduled and unscheduled servicing of wind turbines and site infrastructure.
Essential Responsibilities

• Environmental, Health and Safety mindset and Compliance.
• Hands on experience to fulfill all assigned duties for operation and maintenance of wind turbines for customer owned wind farms in the region.
• Hands on experience on High/Medium/Low Voltage AC/DC system testing, Operation and Maintenance, troubleshooting & repair.
• Provide customers with high quality, value added service solutions including Operations / SCADA, maintenance, troubleshooting and services.
• Ability to work independently on the implementation of fault analyses and repair of wind turbine generator systems, including clarification of any client queries.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on variable pitch / variable speed turbines.
• Maintain reports using GE’s various software management tools and databases.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with the organisation’s JSA, LOTO, EHS and associated policies/procedures.
• Complete all necessary technical and business documentation on time and accurate.
• Maintain and provide accurate information of the turbine operation of the project.
• Submit technical query to Engineering to ensure technical issues are resolved.
• Answer questions from Management, Engineering, Sourcing and Project Teams as required.
• Coordination of external and internal service providers and contractors on site.
• Able to work at height
Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree / Diploma Engineering – Electrical, Electronics or Power Electronics or Mechanical or Instrumentation Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of Wind turbine field service or project experience.
• Demonstrate consistently high levels of performance in all areas of responsibility.
• Work efficiently without direct supervision.
• Customer Service mindset.
• Ability / Willingness to travel domestic and International Team Player and boundary less.
• Good communication & computer skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Desired Characteristics

• Previous Experience in GE Wind Turbine Operation and Maintenance is a plus.
• Travel to Remote sites within India required on a frequent and many times extended basis.
• Willing to relocate on business requirement.
• Knowledge in ISO requirements.
