Role Summary/Purpose

The Field Service Engineer is responsible for GEPC Converter System related site support, troubleshooting’s and trainings within the GE Offshore Wind Service Operations structure with the focus on the Merkur site.
Essential Responsibilities

In addition to that for all resources and logistics required to perform services and maintenance activities on the Merkur customers site / property within his team. This includes all types of maintenance services (i.e. preventive and corrective not only limited to the Converter Systems), managing maintenance facilities, and coordinate with your Site Management Team on the SOV and other support functions. Driving operational excellence, quality and safety is key priority for this role.

As the Field Service Engineer, Offshore Wind, you will:
• Lead the operational team. Be fully responsible for the execution of all service-related tasks with respect to EHS (ToolBoxTalks, Incident Reporting, etc.), Electrical Safety (LOTO), Taking over the Anlagenverantwortung (ANLV) while working on the WEC.
• Support your colleagues (and perform yourself) on locations troubleshooting the GEPC Converter Systems and Generator.
• Create together with the Global Training Center a training matrix and plan to educate technicians to maintain and troubleshoot the GEPC Converter Systems
• On the job trainings on site to share knowledge
• Be the point of contact for the GE Site Management and representing your team and being able to motivate your team
• Coordinate and perform administrative activities as per relevant service processes, including tracking work activities, manage component/parts deliveries to/from your location or on the SOV
• Participate in process & quality improvement initiatives and provide feedback on lessons learned to your Site Management Team and Operations Management + Engineering
• Able to coordinate the team work timings to align with marine transfer pickup times
• Able to react on short notice work condition changes due to changes in the planning or weather related
Qualifications/Requirements

• professional education/apprenticeship in an electrical technical discipline with professional experience
• Proven strong experience to work with GEPC Converter Systems, specially the type installed in the Haliade 150-6MW
• Ability and willingness to work offshore in a rotational shift system on a vessel
• Proven ability to work in a cross-functional and global environment, remote teams, strong team player
• Fluency in English language
• Willingness to travel from time to time to other projects within the GE Offshore Operations business to support if needed

• Proven offshore wind experience or experience in a related discipline
• High motivation level; self-starter with leadership and communication skills
• Proven oral and written communication skills in English
• Interpersonal and leadership skills
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team
• German language skills are a plus
