Role Summary/Purpose

The Engineer - Maintainability and Supportability will be responsible for all aspects of product maintainability, supportability, and human factors for the assigned engine programs. In this role, you will participate throughout the complete NPI process to analyze and influence system maintainability and supportability. Your goal will be to deliver an engine system that exhibits the highest levels of maintainability and supportability at the lowest customer life cycle costs.
Essential Responsibilities

·  Develop comprehensive program plans to execute the maintainability objectives of the assigned program

·  Acquire customer feedback and voice of the customer

·  Perform an assessment of competition or similar competitive products

·  Establish a product maintenance concept and support strategy

·  Review design practices, lessons learned, and best practices for applicability to your assigned program Establish product technical and program requirements

·  Analyze the engine cross section and external architecture

·  Perform and support design trade studies and trade-off decisions

·  Perform periodic design reviews (CDR, PDR, DDR) of the product

·  Participate in and support technical meetings where maintainability input is required

·  Provide guidance and support to other engineering functions or departments

·  Support the development of engine specific hardware lists, LRU lists, and hand tool lists

·  Develop engine specific digital tool boxes, keep out zones, and removal paths for insertion into the digital pre-assembly

·  Analyze the digital pre-assembly for maintainability concerns

·  Review and approve Interface Control Documents, Development Problem Reports, and Development Change in Design documents

·  Support the identification and development of support equipment

·  Support and analyze engine assembly, integration, test, and certification activities

·  Perform and/or support Product Support Analysis activities

·  Perform and/or support Integrated Product Support activities

·  Perform and/or support Maintenance Steering Group-3 activities

·  Perform Maintainability and Human Factors predictions

Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college

·  Minimum of 5 years of experience in a field closely related to maintainability, supportability or human factors engineering

Desired Characteristics

·  Practical experience performing maintenance on aircraft, or aircraft systems such as turbine engines

·  Experience supporting Department of Defense acquisition programs

·  Technical writing experience

·  Support equipment experience

·  Logistics experience

·  Working knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter Visualization Mockup software
