Role Summary/Purpose

If you love software and want a career in engineering the Edison Engineering Development Program (EEDP) is for you! EEDP is an entry-level engineering program consisting of rotational assignments and technical training. GE is committed to the development of tomorrow’s technologists, who have a real passion for software and a drive for technical excellence.
Essential Responsibilities

The program is designed to accelerate your professional development through challenging technical training and a variety of business-critical assignments. Edison graduates have the technical and business foundation to innovate and create the future of healthcare with GE.

EEDP members at GE Healthcare experience technically challenging rotations that are driven by innovation, to drive action and inspire new ideas.  

·  EEDP members are designing and developing cutting edge technology, in a dynamic, fast-paced business for in the medical diagnostic imaging, molecular imaging, ultrasound, critical care, nuclear medicine, surgical navigation systems, software platforms and monitoring product areas that support our Early Health vision. 
·  EEDP members learn how GE approaches the design of products and software through this program. They work closely to introduce product designs into production and ensure that GE's products/services meet customer needs.  
·  The core engineering skills gained in assignments are enhanced through technical training courses in engineering.  
·  Leadership skills are developed through corporate and local training.  
·  Experience and training combined with mentoring and guidance from assignment managers, prepares members with the technical skills and values needed to achieve a successful career in technology.

Qualifications/Requirements

·  Bachelors or Masters degree with a course of study in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent degree.  
·  Overall GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 (based on a 4.0 scale) 
·  Prior intern, co-op or research experience in design, software or manufacturing engineering  
·  Excellent Communication skills and an ability to articulate technical problems in clear and simple terms and with proven track record of influencing teams to action
·  A demonstrated strong technical aptitude towards problem solving. 
·  Strong team skills with demonstrated leadership skills
·  Must be willing to relocate and be willing to move as business needs change 
·  Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening. GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening
Desired Characteristics

·  A prior intern, co-op, or research experience with software in firmware design; software design/applications; IT Development; networking; or Medical-informatics; 
·  Experience in object-oriented design methodology and/or proficiency in software languages such as Java, JavaScript, Perl, Shell scripting, C, C++, Matlab; Python
·  Experience with agile principles and methodologies 
·  Experience with Data Analytics or Machine Learning technologies 
·  Demonstrated program / project management skills working on and leading teams; 
·  Proven Adaptable Skills; 
·  Demonstrated leadership skills and community involvement
