Role Summary/Purpose

The Cybersecurity & Technology Risk (CTR) team protects GE’s IT networks, infrastructure, assets and software products.

The Data Engineer works within the CTR Industrial Security Access Review team and will design, develop and maintain automated, cloud-based solutions to support business critical analytics and reporting. You will support projects using cutting edge technology to solve challenging problems at scale that will make a positive impact on security at GE.
Essential Responsibilities

In this role you will:

• Design and develop cloud-based data processing, data warehouse optimized for ingesting, integrating, and reporting on varied sources

• Design and develop solutions for structured and unstructured data

• Design and implement conceptual, logical, and physical data model

• Define architectural differences between solution methods and the advantages/disadvantages of each.
• Identify downstream implications of data load changes during new data source integrations (e.g., data quality, code failure, future challenges)
• Analyze multiple systems, understands the purpose of each system and defines data integration source requirements across systems
• Build, document, and test data flows to automate high-volume data delivery within AWS.
• Develop solutions to ETL, join, calculate and output data into meaningful reports.
• Integrate domain data knowledge into development of data solutions.
• Troubleshoot, provide Root Cause Analysis and implement appropriate corrective action
Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent (STEM) with minimum 2 years of experience as data engineer.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience using AWS cloud technologies: i.e. S3, Redshift, DataPipeline,

• A minimum of 2 years of experience working on various Database(s), SQL is required.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience using Scripting (Python, Perl, etc..) is required OR a minimum of 1 years of experience with Core Java, Java Web Services development SOAP, REST APIs

• Experience developing data solutions in a changing environment. Connecting and joining various data sources to provide outcomes. i.e. reports, dashboards, DaaS.
